EXECUTIVE ORDERS

Executive Order No. 1 (1935) :Created the National Defense Act of the Commonwealth of the Philippines. It established the framework for the country’s military defense.

Executive Order No. 2 (1935) :Provided for the organization of the office of the President of the Commonwealth and defined its roles and responsibilities.

Executive Order No. 3 (1936) :Implemented the reorganization of the Philippine Government under the Commonwealth, focusing on restructuring government agencies.

Executive Order No. 4 (1936) : Organized the Department of Foreign Affairs under the Commonwealth Government to manage diplomatic relations and foreign policies.

Executive Order No. 7 (1936) : Approved the rules for the first Philippine National Assembly elections.

Executive Order No. 9 (1937) :Established a commission to promote and improve the use of the Filipino language.

Executive Order No. 10 (1937) : Created the National Economic Council to oversee economic planning and coordinate national development efforts.

Executive Order No. 11 (1937) : Enforced the construction of government buildings and infrastructure projects, laying the foundation for public works initiatives.

Executive Order No. 17 (1938) : Organized the Bureau of Internal Revenue, setting up taxation policies and tax collection methods.

Executive Order No. 18 (1938) : Transferred the Bureau of Agriculture to the Department of Agriculture and Commerce.

Executive Order No. 22 (1941) :Established the National Economic Protectionism Act, focusing on economic recovery and self-sufficiency as a response to the global crisis during World War II.

Executive Order No. 23 (1941) : Established the National Assembly’s emergency powers in light of the impending war with Japan, which allowed for faster decision-making in wartime.

Executive Order No. 27 (1942) :Issued during the Japanese occupation of the Philippines, this executive order created a provisional government and moved the capital of the Philippines to Tuguegarao, away from Japanese forces.

Executive Order No. 28 (1943) :Established a government program to address the food shortages caused by World War II.
