EXECUTIVE ORDERS

Filipino First Policy: President Garcia was known for implementing the Filipino First Policy, which favored Filipino businessmen and businesses over foreign investors.

Rizal Pro Patria Award: Executive Order created the Rizal Pro Patria Award, to be awarded to individuals, societies, institutions, or organizations that have rendered outstanding work in promoting love of country and citizenship.

New Municipalities: Several executive orders established new municipalities, such as Polomolok in Cotabato, Padre Burgos in Leyte, Isulan in Cotabato, and Santo Tomas in Davao.

Reduction of Government Office Hours: Executive Order No. 244 mandated a reduction of government office hours to five continuous hours from 8 AM to 1 PM during the hot season.

Investments by Filipinos in the US: Executive Order No. 361 outlined rules and regulations governing investments by Filipinos residing in the United States in the economic development program of the Philippines.

Special Assistant to the President on Science Coordination: Executive Order No. 294 created the position of Special Assistant to the President on Science Coordination.

President's Committee on Assistance to the Fishing Industry: Executive Order No. 449 created the President's Committee on Assistance to the Fishing Industry
